Christmas Potpourri 2010

"THE MOST UNUSUAL GIFT"
The most unusual gift, what gift do you need to give to God? What things in your life are hindering you from experiencing God fully in your life? That was the question posed at our annual ladies potpourri on, November 13th by guest speaker, Dawn Mooring. As usual, the tables were beautiful and everyone enjoyed the classes and fellowship. But, more importantly, God was at work. Nearly 200 women came forward and placed a written commitment of what they were giving to God in a box placed at the altar. Praise God! Thank you to everyone who participated by hosting tables, teaching classes, serving food and more!

Wednesday nights - Bible Study

...these past few weeks we have been enjoying going through the book of Philippians with Kay Arthur's book, "That I May Know Him"(The New Inductive Study Series).

...We will start a new study beginning in January. It would be a great time to join this group of ladies for a time of fellowship, sharing with each other how God is working and using His Word to impact our lives daily, and being accountable to one another as we live out the Christian life.

Me, Myself, and Lies: A Thought Closet Makeover is a Bible study for women to encourage them to clean out the junk in their thoughts and replace these hidden negative thoughts and failures with positive truths from God’s word. Author Jennifer Rothschild shares practically and helpfully from her own life and from Scripture to show how every woman can turn her words, and her life, around for good.

Words are powerful. Especially the words women speak to themselves. All too often, what they say to themselves when they lie in bed at night or look in the mirror in the morning is not even close to the words God wants them to speak to their souls. According to Rothschild, what we think about often has a ripple effect on nearly every area of our lives, “This Bible study, based on Jennifer's popular book: Self Talk, Soul Talk, teaches how to replace the lies you may have been telling yourself with the truth from God’s word.”
